I had to have these boots as soon as I spotted them. Visions of me wearing them with a number of looks from spring into summer were quickly obliterated when literally overnight my pregnant feet (yep, I’m expecting this summer!) suddenly puffed up. I was prepared for the feet swelling that accompanies pregnancy, but I had no clue it would happen so fast and that it would require me to buy shoes almost two sizes bigger!
I’ve featured a number of ladies on this blog who love to shop in vintage and thrift stores and have a great eye for picking out some incredible pieces. Theses ladies build stand-out looks that hint to the past but are also decidedly modern in the way in which they are styled and teamed with current pieces.
I have a funny feeling my friends in Europe are gonna start hating me and soon start dodging my emails and frantic calls, again. This will all be thanks to this place : www.Stories.com, a new store, by H&M, called & Other Stories that recently opened and doesn’t deliver to the US. The last time a store came between me and my overseas pals was back when Topshop did not deliver to the US.
I’ve been M.I.A. on the blog for a while now. I know, not cool. Between my writing gigs and a much-needed vaca in St. Lucia, I’ve haven’t had much time for blogging. Another loved pastime I’ve been slacking on these days is shopping. I’ve manage to catch up on both today with this post on Vita Fede‘s sharp collection of jewels designed by Cynthia Sakai.
Major accessory crush on these 3.1 Phillip Lim PJ Cutout Flat Booties and the “Scout” Small Drawstring Crossbody bag in that rich green hue. The quirky mix of gladiator sandal with the menswear aesthetic has me drawn to these booties. I can see these working with many looks from cuffed-up boyfriend jeans to denim shorts this spring into the summer.
Some cool goodies I’d love to see in my closet for spring. I’ve had these particular pieces on the brain for some time and just haven’t gotten around to getting my hands on them…or figuring out which ones are worth splurging on. The leather pants have my name written all over them. The Margiela boots are a classic covet of mine.

If you follow Fringueuse on Pinterest, then you know that overalls hold a special place in my heart. They have since I was in middle school. I couldn’t be more thrilled that for Spring’13, designers are reproducing the look for us grown ups in a myriad of fabrics (velvet, silk, leather and denim, of course) and styles. |
