I’ve always loved a wide-leg trouser and Michelle, shot by Stockholm Street Style in Paris, makes a great case for the return of this look for fall/winter. These aren’t the wide-leg pajama style palazzo pants we’ve been accustomed to seeing lately. These pants are classic menswear inspired and tailored. This style may have made a big trendy comeback on the Fall’12 runways of Proenza Schouler, Calvin Klein and Celine but it’s a timeless and essential silhouette worthy of a spot in ever woman’s closet. Stretchy, skinny and cropped are still appealing descriptors for pants right now, but I have to say this roomy gamine silhouette is a very relaxed and an instantly ultra-chic alternative to our standard leg-hugging skinny trousers. Take a cue from Michelle and pair your trousers with a slim and preferably tucked in top, and accentuate your waist with a thin belt to balance the total look.
