LANVIN
Construction, or more specifically the re-construction, of classics was key at Lanvin with the tuxedo silhouette, pantsuits and the LBD undergoing a stunning architecturally tailored redesign that also found the designer delving into Japanese references.
HAIDER ACKERMANN
Haider Ackerman’s signature expert tailoring and layering continues to thrive for Spring’13. Floaty robes layered over blouses, sleeveless blazers held together at the waist with obi-style belts and romantic gowns layered over louche trousers. This season the vivid hues the line is known for have been replaced by a dark palette of navy, brown, black and graphic and mosaic prints.
VANESSA BRUNO
Vanessa Bruno melds menswear tailoring and pretty feminine dresses to create an ultra-wearable spring collection a la Parisienne. The bias-cut skirts and white, tailored blazers, blue printed jumpsuits and gladiator sandals possess an effortless cool sensibility that will score big with retail.
KENZO
Fun and eye-catching abstract animal and jungle prints, oversized pockets, jumpsuits, trench dresses were a confident and fresh nod to utilitarian safari. The collection is brimming with quirky and spot-on pieces that will undoubtedly make the wish list of fringueuses from New York to Paris. Expect their tiger sweatshirt for Spring’13 to reach the same cult status as this season’s green version.
